官將首是台灣民間的廟宇文化表演，通常由2到3位成員演出。所有表演者，畫面著臉譜，狀似鬼神，手拿各式法器，以三步叉及多變的陣式表演及武術動作為特色，是一種華麗炫目象徵台灣民間舞蹈藝術特色的一種表演。「官將首」所代表的是專司緝拿妖魔鬼怪即孤魂野鬼的陰間補頭，其各種陣式的表演便是象徵攻擊及圍捕，使鬼魂無所遁形，以求安民保境。

Guan Jian Shou, the bodyguards of Ksitigarbha, are often seen in front of the parade in Taiwan’s temple ceremonies guarding the God and intimidating devious spirits by exaggerating steps and postures. They have the ability to discern good and evil, adding the lifespan to people with good morals and decreasing the lifespan of wicked people. Each of them has specific makeup, acts and dresses to show their strength in an artistic way.
